The magic lantern was first discribed in the west in 1671 by the Jesuit Athanasius Kircher. An example of the magic lantern is shown to the right. Today my group did a mind map and agreed on what idea we wanted to use. Then we laid out a list of props to be drawn and made out of plasticine. I made a wire support for the dog then tried to work out how best to go about making the changing room building. I came to the conclusion that I will need to make a wire frame for it also. Which I will do on Monday.

Today my group finalized our idea for the Show Racism the Red Card project we are doing. Then I started looking at different ideas for the background music and scenery. The projects final date is the 29th of January.

I made this over two lessons in Rob's class. I used iPhoto and Garage Band to create the finished product above.

Today I scanned my flip book into the computer and used Gimbshop to edit it. Once the editing was done I sent it to iPhoto. From there I moved it into iMovie and made it into an animation. I then added some music to it as well using Garage Band.

Today we started looking at different types of animation. I did a flip book in class which will be scanned into the computer next week. Then I finished updating my blog for the last few weeks.

iGoogle is another example of a layout editing website. You can rearrange the boxes and make them bigger. You can also chose different topics to be displayed.

The BBC home page is one of a growing number of web pages that allows the user to customise the layout of the page, so it is only showing the information that person is interested in. For example you can remove the News, Sport and TV boxes and customise the weather. You can also move the boxes around so they look more appealing and have the things you are more interested in at the top of the page.

Today both Jane and Thomas were off. I created a html page. That took most of the lesson so I didn't get to work much on our project. However I managed to print off the extra information I need to complete it.

Today I completed the write up for the YMTS and Alhambra pages of my teams project, after gathering further information. I have a bit of a hard time with the write up on the musical itself as there is so much information to sift through. I printed out more information on the musical and shall continue to work on that over the course of the week.
Jane, Thomas and I started a web page template. I typed up the pages I had completed and Thomas put the pictures on the page.
22/09/09Today I looked at the difference between two blogging web sites. Then I worked further on rewriting information on my teams EPK project. By the end of class I had almost completed my write ups on the Youth Music Theater Scotland. I will need further information on the musical Rent and shall be gathering it during the course of the week. I will also work on completong the write up of the venue, Alhambra Theater in Dunfermline.
22/09/09Blogger is an easy to use blogging web site, perfect for people like me who haven't blogged before. The web site is straight forward with easy to fallow instructions to help you get started. Blogger is free and allows you to join groups and allows others to fallow blogs written by you. There is also the choice to keep all your posts private or allow them to be public.
22/09/09Word Press is a blogging web site. It looks more professional then some of the others and seems to allow you more control over the appearance of your blog. The site does not have tour option to show you the various features. It does have an About page which gives you some history on the site. You can also pay for a premium account.
15/09/09Today Thomas was in charge of our group as we were doing research for our project. I gathered information about the musical Rent. Which I then started to rewrite into paragraphs while Jane and Thomas collected information on other things to do with our project, for me to write up.
08/09/09Today I looked at the different video sharing websites available on the Internet. There were some that would not work properly because they were made for the USA. Then the class was divided into groups in order to start work on our EPK projects. My team consists of Jane, Thomas and myself. The subject that we are doing is; Rent by the Youth Music Theatre Scotland. Within the the project we were all given different tasks Jane is in charge of the web design, Thomas is in charge of the research and I am responsible for writting the infermation up into the form in which it will be put onto the webpage.

Veoh is a free video sharing website on which you can view and share videos. You can also broadcast podcasts, videos and music. There is also a search bar where you type in what you are looking for.
The Home Page consists of links to other areas of the website.
The Videos Page shows featured videos. You can chose to view all categories on this page as well.
There is a Movie Page on wich you can find movies availible through the website.
On the Music Page you can look through all the videos that are on the site and chose which ones to watch.
Veoh's Channel Page lets you look at the different chanles you can view while using their site.
There is also a Groups Page on which you can view the different groups on the website.

The website includes;The Home Page has a Most Popular which shows the different types of genres that are more popular. There is also a Being Viewed Now which lets you know what people are watching most at the moment.
The Videos Page has videos in order of today's most popular. It also has a category plan in which you can chose which type of videos you want to look through.
There is also a Channels Page on which you can look through the different channels available. On this page there are channels in order of most viewed this month. there is also a category plan in which you can find the different types of channels available through Youtube.

You can edit your photos using; photo cropper, red eye, rotate your photo, fix exposure, resize, auto fix, colors, and sharpen.

You can organize your photos by theme, into collections, photographer, groups, time, tag, text, and maps

You have access to groups but can make your pictures private
Maps
You can use the maps to show were you took your photos and videos
Make Stuff
You can use your photos to create all sorts of things including; calendars, photo mini books, prints ie. posters, scrap books, mini cards, photo cards
Keep in touch
You can add contacts as family, friend or both. You can have daily email to tell you what your friends are up to. There is a guess pass to let non members view private pictures and videos.
Flickr seems fairly easy to use and navigate around. There is a search option to help you find pictures of a certain type or topic.

Today we worked with iweb to get use to how it works. Jane and I created a random web site. We used the different tools and used photos off the web. Then I looked at the differences between various photo websites.
